Mott's Bird Farm

Where we collect peafowl, pheasants, chuckars, and turkeys…never a quiet moment around here!

Miniature Shetland Sheep

Meet our family of wool-bearing ovids! These are miniature Shetland sheep which originate from the Shetland Islands. Redhead is our cute red ram. He did his best to ensure our ewes lambed this spring. Our two ewes are Pickles (red) and Midnight (black). They have now lambed and Redhead is not the father of either lamb. Somehow Pickles had a black lamb and I have concluded that Stormy, our black wether that is not pictured here ended up fathering the lamb born to Pickles (he was not a wether afterall!). Stormy now resides at the American West Heritage Center in Logan, Utah. Midnight was bred prior to arrival at our farm. This is our first year with these sheep.

Midnight gave birth to Baaarak (the larger black lamb) the day before Easter 2008. His horns are coming along nicely.

This little girl, Hillary, was born to Pickles on April 16, 2008.

BEEF: Its what's for dinner! Our three Jersey steers (top down) Sir Loin, Patty, and Butch lay chewing their cud. This photo is a bit outdated as Sir Loin is no lonter in the pasture.
